How to play the Common Myna
Mynas eat almost everything in the village. Cling upside down to a banana bract with F, and use the owner's whistle (T) to pull a guard dog away from its kibble bowl.
- R Raid / Peck
- peck kibble, harvest fruit while hanging from a banana bract (F on a bract to cling upside down).
- T Owner's Whistle
- mimic the dog owner's whistle at your position - dogs run to investigate. Near sparrows it launches a mobbing attack instead.
- C Gurgle
- chattering gurgles and clicks.
Story quest: The Homestead Heist
A bowl of premium kibble sits on a veranda guarded by a sleeping dog. Lure the dog away with the owner's whistle, then eat the kibble before it returns. Reward: 400 XP. Start it at its golden marker on the map with G.
The real bird
The Common Myna is native to South Asia. It has spread through Israel since the late 1990s and is now an invasive species that competes with native birds for nesting holes. It eats almost anything and is a gifted mimic of sounds.
The calls you hear in the game are real recordings from xeno-canto.org, credited in the game's sound credits.
